Regarding logos, there is only one rule:
Keep it simple!
Think of the really good logos. Nike, Apple, Mercedes, they have strong brands and even stronger logos.
Why? Well, they are really simple. When I Design logos, I always try to keep the following in mind.
- The logo should look good in black and white.
- A logo should be recognizable on small surfaces, which means that you should be able to print it on a pen.
- It could say something about you, your company, and that can really be anything, but it needs to be recognisable in the first place.
Be sure to check out my portfolio for my previous creations, consisting of a series of cute logos and some serious ones, these were all developed using vectors and my clients also always receive them in a vectorial format. Meaning that those logos can be used on a pen or on an aircraft carrier, ie they can be infinitely resized without loss of quality.
